In addition to the regulations forwarded with the letter

of the 16 th April 1925 from this Department, the Board have

since issued regulations respecting fire extinguishing

appliances on steam and motor passenger vessels (Circulars

1658 and 1661), and the Instructions as to the Survey of Life

Saving Appliances have been revised.

Copies of these regulations and Instructions are enclosed

herewith for transmission to the Governor of Hong Kong.

I am to enquire, therefore, whether those regulations

which according to despatch No. 270 of the 23rd June 1925 from

the Governor of Hong Kong, had not been adopted up to that date,

have now actually been put into force and when the regulations

relating to fire extinguishing appliances have been put into

force in Hong Kong.
